The UF-XS was created by ShinMaywa Industries Ltd. to develop future amphibians.
The prototype is Grumman's UF-1.Modifications that do not retain the original form of the UF-1 have been implemented.The aircraft first flew in 1962 and research flight tests continued until 1966.This led to the birth of the later anti-submarine patrol flying boat PS-1.

The UF-XS is currently preserved and exhibited at the Gifu Kakamigahara Aerospace Museum.One of the most interesting aircraft.I hope this aircraft will be preserved for many years to come.
