The Air Self-Defense Force's F-15 J

The Air Self-Defense Force's F-15 was decided to be introduced at the 41st National Defense Conference on December 28, 1977 (Wednesday) as a successor to the F-104J Starfighter.

Japan have introduced 165 F-15Js and 48 F-15DJs, and they are still active as the ASDF's main fighter aircraft.

U.S. Air Force serial number 02-8801 first flew on Wednesday, June 4, 1980 as USAF F-15C serial number 79-0280 at McDonnell Douglas' St. Louis plant.It was handed over to the ASDF through Foreign Military Assistance (FMS) on Tuesday, July 15th.

This fighter belonged to the flight development experiment group of the Air Self-Defense Force Gifu base and is still flying in active service.
