This aircraft was used as a French reconnaissance aircraft during World War I.In 1818, Japan's Kawasaki Shipyard acquired the right to manufacture aircraft and began domestic production. It made its first flight at Kakamigahara Airfield in 1922.

300 planes were manufactured at the factory in Kakamigahara.The engine is a Salmson/Kawasaki AZ-9 radial engine.Propulsion was 230 hp.Maximum speed is 100 knots.Weight is 1500Kg.

The production of this aircraft made Gifu Prefecture one of the bases for aircraft manufacturing. It was the forerunner of Kawasaki Heavy Industries.

The aircraft in the photo is a replica displayed at the Gifu Kakamigahara Aerospace Museum.I often go to see this plane.
